Interview Questions for Attitudes/Orientation

  1. When you think about the trouble you have had over the last few years with the law, tell me how you feel about that.

    How do you feel when you get into trouble at home?

  2. Tell me about how you feel when you think about this latest time you have gotten into trouble.
  3. Do you feel like you need any type of help?

    Did your last probation officer have you participate in any groups or anything?

    How was that?

    Do you think that it helped you?  Tell me about it.

  4. Do you think that I can help you stay out of trouble?

    Will you participate in a treatment program if I make it a condition of your program plan?

  5. Tell me how you feel when you think about being supervised by me as your Parole Officer.
  6. How do you think your probation is going to affect the other people in your life — friends, family, etc.?
  7. Do you expect that your probation status will affect your relationships with the people you hang out with now?
  8. What goals do you have for yourself?  How can I help you in achieving those goals?
