To add a budget sanction:
If a person is to be closed out of the program case, or the entire case is to be closed, you will continue to take these actions through the Case or Participant Actions tasks using the close reason of Sanctioned. The information will then display in the Sanctions task.
NOTE: If a person or case is later reopened, a message window appears to notify you that there is a sanctioned individual and lists the sanctions for that person. Sanctions will no longer automatically close when you reopen a sanctioned individual. The new change will allow the workers to view more accurate sanction time frames.
NOTE: When an ADC or AABD person (or case) is closed with the reason of Sanction and an active SNAP case exists, a message will ask if you want to add a Failure to Comply (FTC) sanction. If you select “Yes,” the FTC will be added to the Sanction task. If you select “No,” the FTC sanction will not be imposed.
NOTE: When an SNAP Earned Income Sanction is imposed, it applies only on recalculated budgets.
