Add SIMP Community Spouse or Dependent Family Member
In order to add a SIMP Community Spouse or Dependent Family Member,
you must have a pending or active MED case. The ADD button enables only
if the selected MED case has a Master Case person who can be added as
a SIMP Community Spouse and/or Dependent Family Member, and the person
does not have a role of Participant, Essential Person, Community Spouse,
or Dependent Family Member in any program case.
- Select the appropriate benefit month to begin
the Other Roles Action.
- Highlight the program case on the Current tab
and select the ADD button.
- The Add SIMP Community Spouse or Dependent Family
Member window displays a list of persons in the Master Case who can be
added to the selected case as a Community Spouse or Dependent Family Member.
Only one person can be selected as Community Spouse.
- The highlighted person's household status can
be changed with the ‘Change selected Participant
Household Status to ‘In’? radio buttons. Waiver cases may have
an "In household" status.
- If the selected benefit month is NOT
the come-up month the ‘Take action for this month only?’
radio button enables. If the Community Spouse or Dependent Family Member
should be active for the selected benefit month and closed/denied for
any future month(s) then select ‘Yes’. If the Community Spouse or Dependent
Family Member is to be active for the selected benefit month and for all
future months select ‘No’.
- Select the person's role in the 'Role' field.
- Select the Next button to save the information
and return to the Current tab and process another person in the Master
Case or
- Select the OK button to save the information and
return to the Current tab or
- Select the Cancel button to return to the Current
tab without saving the current information.
