When a family loses ADC grant eligibility as a result of increased earnings or hours of employment, and a grant was received in 3 of the past 6 months, eligibility for Low Income Transitional Child Care and/or Transitional Child Care categories will be determined by N-FOCUS. Resources and income for all pending or active participants in the Child Care program case. are used to determine eligibility.
This category is for participants who meet the 3 of 6 months requirement for Transitional Child Care eligibility, but have income low enough to be eligible for the Low Income category.
N-FOCUS will track the household's eligibility for TCC. When the income increases, so the household would have a fee, Transitional Child Care will begin.
When the participants in the Child Care program case meet the ADC program requirements for TCC eligibility, the budgeting process will configure the CC program case to TCC once the income level is such that there is a fee. The fee will be based on the unit size, number of eligible children and the income of the family. The begin date for TCC is the first month of TCC with a fee.
Note: The TCC start date can be entered by checking the box "Set to Transitional Child Care" in the Child Care Budget Confirmation window. Only Economic Assistance supervisors have the security to perform this function. An example of when this may occur is when a person moved to Nebraska from another state and is eligible for TCC benefits.
Note: If more than one Child Care case is in the Master Case, each case will run when budgeting processes. When the Child Care Budget Confirmation window appears, review the composition of the case. If the case displaying is not the case you want to process, select the CANCEL button and budgeting will not process for that Child Care case.
