Client Benefit Inquiry

Client Benefit Inquiry Overview:

The Client Benefit Inquiry (CBI) is a web view of the N-FOCUS Master Cases and Program Cases in which a person has an Administrative Role of Program; Case Name, Payee, or Case Representative.

CBI information is available for the following programs:

Customer access to this benefit information is through the ACCESSNebraska web site My Account.

DHHS staff may access the Client Benefit Inquiry (CBI) window from the Person Detail window in N-FOCUS. Worker accessing the CBI windows from the Person Detail window will see the same information that the client sees.

A person who has a role of Program Case Name, Case Rep or Payee and who has an SSN and Date of Birth will have the ability to inquire and view the information for those program cases in the ACCESSNebraska website. Person must have a PIN to view benefits information through ACCESSNebraska. See below who is eligible for a PIN.

Information is updated in “real time”, i.e. as soon as the work is done in N-FOCUS or the MC is checked in, the Client Benefit Inquiry windows will display the most current information.

Information about the most current three months of benefits will display on the CBI Program Detail window. Most of the time, it will display the current month plus two future months. Twelve months of benefit information will display on the History windows.

The participants current status will display, i.e. pending, active, spend down, premium due, ineligible, denied or closed. Individuals who are financially responsible in a program case such as ineligible immigrants, ineligible students, or sanctioned do not have an active status in the program case and no participant information and will NOT be displayed.

Personal Identification Number (PIN) Overview:

Not everyone receives a PIN.

N-FOCUS will assign each person with the appropriate Administrative Role, SSN, and Date of Birth a Personal Identification Number (PIN). With the PIN, the person can set up an account in ACCESSNebraska My Account to view Client Benefit Inquiry. They will be able to create their account and assign their own User ID and Password.

A letter informing the client of their PIN and the Client Benefit Inquiry site is sent to the client upon initial pending of any of the above programs cases. This letter is not stored in N-FOCUS. New users must select an application Icon from ACCESSNebraska, complete application without PIN. Once application is pending or active, and they meet criteria for a PIN listed above a PIN will generate overnight.
