Lift a Case Sanction

To lift the case sanction, you must go to the Case Maintenance Task, and select Case Actions. The Reopen Button will enable if there is a case in denied/closed status that can be reopened.

Note: a case that is ineligible status cannot be reopened if overpayment budgets have already been run.

  1. Select the benefit month to begin the case action.
  2. Select the Reopen Push Button .
  3. Select the person(s) you want included as eligible Participants in the case from the Participant(s) list box.
  4. Enter the Application Request Date if required by the program
  5. Enter the Application Received Date if required by the program.
  6. Enter the Issuance Type if the program selected is SNAP.
  7. Indicate if this is a Reinstatement according to policy if the selected program case is SNAP.
  8. Indicate if the case is Expedited processing for the SNAP.
  9. Enter the date that benefits should be prorated from if the selected program is ADC/MED or SNAP.
  10. Select a person to be the program case name. The list will include anyone who is a participant (active, pending, spenddown for PA programs and closed or denied for SNAP), financially responsible active, or the mother of an unborn participant.
  11. Select the ‘OK’, ‘Next’, or ‘Cancel’ button.

    OK will enable if all required data is entered.

    Next will enable if all required data is entered. This will save the case data just entered and allow you to enter the data for another program case.

    Cancel is always enabled. This will delete any case data just entered, BUT will save any case data previously saved by use of the ‘Next’ button.

  12. If ‘OK’ or ‘Next’ is selected edits are now run on the application date fields and selected participants. If the selected program type/program case is FW, IL, or Waiver and more than one participant was selected an error message will display since these are single participant cases. If the application date(s) is ahead of current date an edit error message will display.
  13. If a person(s) selected in the Participant(s) list box has a household status of ‘Out of HH’ a pop-up window will display asking if you want to change their status to ‘In HH’.
