SNAP Resource Tips
Resource maximums for the SNAP program are
determined by N-FOCUS
using the type and amount of resources entered by the worker, and the
reporting category for the SNAP program case.
Transitional
Benefit Reporting (TBR):
Resources are not counted as the budget is copied from a previous month
when the case passed the resource test.
Categorically
Eligible (CE):
Households
eligible for Categorical Eligibility are those in which:
All
participants receive or are authorized to:
- Receive SSI
benefits
- Are active participants in an AABD
program case
- Are active participants in an ADC
program case
OR
At least one member is authorized to or
receives:
- ADC
Emergency Assistance
- Employment First services
Categorically Eligible households may also
include:
- Ineligible Aliens who are Financially
Responsible
- Ineligible students
- Work Requirement #1 sanctioned persons
- Work Requirement #2 sanctioned persons
- Work Requirement #3 sanctioned persons
- Fleeing felons
- Ineligible ABAWD
Categorical Eligible Households cannot
include a person in the household but not in the SNAP unit due to:
- IVP

- IVP
#2
- IVP
#3
- Sale of drugs #1
- Sale of drugs #2
- Convicted drug felon (SNAP)
- Trafficking
- Buying firearms
- Misrepresenting Identity or Residency
Conviction.
Non-Categorical
Households: Households
that are not TBR
or CE have
resources used
in determining eligibility. Resource
maximums vary, currently $2,000 or $3250 for households that contain an
aged or disabled member.
Expanded
Resource Program (ERP):
Households
eligible for ERP
are those who are not eligible for TBR,
Categorical Eligibility, and their resources exceed the maximums for Non-Categorical
Households, but are less than $25,000.
Expanded
Resource Program Households cannot include a person with sanction(s):
- IVP

- IVP

- Sale of drugs #1
- Sale of drugs #2
- Convicted drug felon (SNAP)
