EA Emergency Assistance Program.

EAP Energy Assistance Program (also known as LIEAP). Or Employee Assistance Program.

EF Employment First. Nebraska's Welfare Reform family program. Also known as TANF.

ELIGIBILITY STATUSES:

ACTIVE:  The case/person has been determined eligible to receive assistance.

CLOSED:  The case/person had been in an active or spenddown status, but is now no longer eligible for assistance.

DENIED:  The case/person was determined ineligible for assistance.

EXEMPT:  The case/person is exempt from a program requirement.

INELIGIBLE:  This status is used to close a case retroactively, after assistance has been authorized.

PREMIUM DUE:  The premium is a monthly amount, which must be paid for the person to receive Medicaid.

PENDING  An application has been received, but no eligibility has been determined, and no benefits issued.

SANCTIONED: The case/person has failed to cooperate with policy, and is not eligible for full benefits.  

SPEND DOWN OR SHARE OF COST:  The amount the client must obligate towards their medical care each month, before Medicaid will cover any medical expenses.

TRANSITIONAL:  This status is for cases where eligibility fails, but the clients retain eligibility due to specific policy regulations.

EMAC Enhanced Medical Assistance for Children.

EMR Emergency/Interim Release. A formal N-FOCUS release strategy followed for the highest priority of SIR. EMR’s become the top priority of technical and business staff, are worked on immediately and changes are released as soon as they are complete.

IV-D [4-D] State agency responsible for the administration of the federal child support enforcement programs. Also, the section or title of the Federal Social Services Act that authorizes the Aid to Families with Dependent Children program, which created Child Support Enforcement programs.

Program Case Information on the programs being applied for/received by Master Case Persons. This information resides in the Master Case file.

SCR System Investigation Request. Document used to record the need for changes to the N-FOCUS application. A SIR can be written for application problems, new application development, deferred application development, research/analysis, documentation tasks, or any other work assignment to be tracked. Used to track the progress of the change, to indicate what modules of the code need to be changed, who is going to work on it (business and technical), what platform the change needs to take place on, and other information required to effect the change.

SON: is an established figure determined by unit size and other specific Program rules and regulations setting forth a baseline of income needed to maintain a minimal standard of living. Prorated Standard of Need is a formula for benefits that provides a percentage of the Standard of Need based upon the number of people who are eligible for benefits divided by the number of people in the program case.
