Understand NHM
Interfaces
- The law
requiring New Hire Match (NHM)
was passed in October 1997 mandating employers notify Child Support Enforcement
of all new hires within 20 days.
- In Nebraska
the entity to whom the new hire information is reported is Technology
Management Resources (TMR)
in Omaha.
- Employers
have 3 weeks to get the data to TMR.
TMR
has seven days to get the data to Child Support, then we match with Child
Support within 48 hours. Therefore,
the data is 3-4 weeks old when the Interface is received by the caseworker.
- Employers
must report new hires to rehires within 20 days of the first
day of work. If
the person does not actually work hours for the employer, the employer
is not to report any information.
- Employers
with headquarters out of the State of Nebraska are not
required to report, but may do so. We
receive some data from some corporations, but not all.
- We receive
data from the National New Hire match when an absent parent, living in
Nebraska, is employed by an out of state employer who is required to report
in their state (and then it is forwarded to the national data base, then
on to us).
In the New
Hire List Detail window, the hiring date, person's name and the employer
name will be displayed. If
a line is highlighted, the employer name and address will display.
