If parents are separated, divorced, or unmarried but have shared custody of a child, both parents may be eligible for Child Care Subsidy. Eligibility is based on the income of the parent with whom the child is residing at the time and any child support or other financial assistance from the other parent.
Mom has the child the first two weeks of the month and Dad has the child the second two weeks of the month. No one is ordered to pay child support. If Mom meets need and income eligibility, she may receive Child Care Subsidy for the weeks the child is with her, the same is true for Dad.
