A client who is attending school or training is not allowed Child Care Subsidy for study time but may receive it for a reasonable period of time between classes.
As a rule of thumb, a client is
not expected to pick up his/her child for gaps between classes of three
hours or less. If the gap is more than three hours, you will need to look
at the distance between the client's home and the child care provider
as well as between the educational institution and child care provider.
You will also need to consider the client's mode of transportation. If
the client must take a bus or taxicab, consider the cost and time required.
In some instances, parking at the school can be quite a distance from
the classrooms. You will need to take this into account.
Child Care Subsidy is allowed for tutoring provided by the Instructor,
Teaching Assistant, or other supervised group or individual activity to
improve the student's performance. The need must be documented in writing
by the instructor.
