2-009.04B1b(1) Budgeting

The budget is figured according to the following guidelines:

  1. If the individual pays the entire obligation or provides the total shelter, the worker shows the appropriate figure from the chart as unearned income in the budget;
  2. If the individual pays the entire obligation or provides the total shelter, but the amount is less than the figure allowed in 468 NAC 2-009.04B4, the worker shows the actual amount paid as unearned income; or
  3. If the individual makes only partial payments or provides partial shelter, the worker does not count any of the payment in the budget.

The following examples illustrate the budget guidelines. X is a unit of two. Y is not in the household. Y regularly makes the rent payment to the landlord.
1. X's rent is $200. Y regularly pays the $200. The worker shows $101 in the budget.
2. X's rent is $85. Y regularly pays the $85. The worker shows $85 in the budget.
3. X's rent is $200. Y regularly pays $150 to the landlord and X pays $50. The worker does not include any of this payment in the budget.
