Retro Months of Eligibility

Retro months of eligibility do not count in the six months of continuous eligibility unless there is no prospective eligibility.
Example 1: The client applied for the children only on November 20 and the children were found to be continuously eligible. The six months of continuous eligibility are November, December, January, February, March, and April. At the time of application, the client requested retro medical for October. The children were found to be eligible for October medical benefits. Eligibility would start in November.
Example 2: The client applied for the children only on November 20. The children were not prospectively eligible. The client requested retro for the month of October. The children were eligible for medical in October. Because there was eligibility in October, we would start continuous eligibility in October. The six months of continuous eligibility are October, November, December, January, February, and March.
