Priority 2 includes reports which allege danger of serious (but not life threatening/critical harm) to a vulnerable adult. Priority 2 reports include, but are not limited to -
1. A report of inadequate attention to physical needs by a caregiver (e.g., lack of or inadequate nutrition, lack of or inadequate medication, lack of supervision, or unanswered "help" calls);
2. A report of physical abuse which is serious but not life threatening/critical (e.g., bruises, sprains, dislocations, scratches, or minor cuts);
3. A report of non-life threatening/critical unreasonable confinement by a caregiver (e.g., cruel confinement or excessive or inappropriate use of restraints);
4. A report of exploitation of resources (e.g., improper use of funds by a guardian, conservator, payee, or a person with a power of attorney; relative or nonrelative having the adult sign over money/resources and not using the money for care of the adult). This does not include consumer fraud (which is handled by the Attorney General's Office); and
5. A report of serious but not life threatening/critical self-neglect (e.g., evictions, utility shut offs, lack of/misuse of medication, medical neglect [non-life threatening/critical], health problems resulting from poor hygiene/unsanitary environmental conditions, or dehydration/malnutrition).
