The determination of case status must be completed within the time frames indicated; the time the report was received by the local office begins the investigation process.

Exception: Under ordinary circumstances staff must complete the determination of case status in the required time frame. If case-specific circumstances prevent determining case status in the required time frame, the APS worker may request an extension for up to 15 calendar days. This action requires approval from the worker's immediate supervisor.
