473 NAC 5-015.11B

 In-person contact is waived when APS investigative staff has made a good faith attempt to locate the subjects of the report, but cannot locate them. The worker shall document these efforts. The report may be placed in a pending status for a maximum of 30 days in these situations. If the subject(s) of the report are located during the 30 days, the investigation time frame begins with the date of location.
