7-005.03B Priority 2

Priority 2 reports allege danger of serious, but not life-threatening or critical, harm to a vulnerable adult.

 

Examples of Priority 2 include, but are not limited to
1. A report of inadequate attention to physical needs by a caregiver or other person responsible for the care of the vulnerable adult (for example, lack of or inadequate nutrition, lack of or inadequate or misuse of medication, lack of supervision, unanswered "help" calls which put the vulnerable adult at serious risk of harm);

2. A report of physical abuse which is serious but not life-threatening/critical (for example, bruises, sprains, dislocations, cuts);

3. A report of non-life-threatening unreasonable confinement or excessive or inappropriate use of restraints;

4. A report of exploitation of resources which does not appear to need immediate attention to preserve assets or property. This does not include consumer fraud, which is handled by the Attorney General's office; or

5. A report of serious but not life-threatening/critical neglect (for example, evictions, utility shut offs, lack of/misuse of medication, medical neglect, health problems resulting from poor hygiene/unsanitary environmental conditions or inadequate food, clothing, shelter, care or supervision.
