Respite Care for Adults is a service designed to provide temporary relief to the usual caregiver from the continuous support and care of a dependent aged or disabled client.
Respite care may be used to -
1. Reduce stress;
2. Reduce the social isolation of the caregiver;
3. Assist the caregiver through an emergency;
4. Reduce out-of-home placement; or
5. Increase the stability of the household.
