The worker must verify and document any factors affecting the composition of the household, such as boarder status, if questionable. However, due to the difficulty in verifying whether a group of individuals customarily purchases or prepares meals together and therefore constitutes a household, the worker must generally accept the household’s statement regarding preparation and purchasing of food.
