3-001.04C1 Employment and Training Compliance
Any household member required to participate in the E & T Program must comply with all the requirements of the component s/he is assigned to including any of the following:
1. Attending a job training workshop;
2. Making a specified number of contacts with potential employers;
3. Following up on job leads; and
4. Accepting suitable employment if offered.
The definition of suitable employment is located at 475 NAC 1-002.
The worker must explain the requirements of the assigned component to any household member required to participate in the E & T Program. In addition, mandatory E & T participants must be informed that they may be exempted from participation if their monthly expenses that are reasonably necessary and directly related to participation in the E & T Program exceed the allowable reimbursement amount.
If the household member does not comply, the worker must send the household a timely notice which includes a statement outlining the disqualification. The timely notice must include a disqualification statement that informs the household of the:
1. Individual who is being disqualified;
2. Reason for the disqualification;
3. Minimum length of the disqualification; and
4. Action the individual can take to end the E & T disqualification, if applicable.
The Employment and Training (E & T) disqualification remains in effect until the individual has:
1. Served the minimum disqualification period;
2. Complied with E & T requirement that caused disqualification, if longer than minimum disqualification period; or
Compliance with E & T begins
when the individual completes whatever further participation is required.
1. If the individual did not attend the appointment with the E &
T contractor, the individual would have to attend the appointment.
2. If the individual did not complete the contractor paperwork,
the individual would have to complete the paperwork; or
3. If the individual did not follow through with attending the eight-week
workshop, the individual must attend the workshop for a period of one
calendar week in order to demonstrate a willingness to participate.
3. Become exempt from the regular work requirements.
