3-002.01C1 Handling Excluded Liquid Resources

475 NAC 3-002.01C1

Excluded monies remain excluded for an unlimited period of time if these monies are kept in a separate account and not combined in an account with non-excludable funds. Funds, other than assistantships, fellowships and stipends, received for educational financial assistance are an excluded resource during the period the funds are intended to cover. When excludable monies are combined in an account with non-excludable funds, the excluded monies remain excluded for six months from the date they were combined with non-excluded funds. After the six months have elapsed, all funds in the combined account are counted as resources.

Note: When an exclusion applies because of the use of a resource by or for a household member, the exclusion also applies when the resource is being used by or for an ineligible alien or disqualified person whose resources are being counted as part of the household’s resources.
