Households which have a three-month record of current child support payments and are also paying arrearages will have the arrearage amount also included as part of the child support deduction. The three-month record of payment is the current three-month period.
Arrearages are legally obligated
child support that was ordered but not paid timely. A separate court order
for the arrearages is not required as the household still has the obligation
to pay.
A household with a current three-month payment record on arrearages can
be allowed the child support deduction. The payments for arrearages are
processed in the same manner as current support taking into account any
anticipated changes.
