Tax Household Information Request/Response

WINDOW OVERVIEW:

When tax information is received from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) through the HUB, the information is shown on the Tax Household Information Request/Response window. This window is accessed by clicking the Tax icon on the Interface Menu.

Note: The Tax Filer must have given us permission to submit a request to the IRS.

FIELD DESCRIPTIONS:

Case Person Name:  The name of the Tax Filer/Case Person.

SSN: The Social Security Number of the Case Person.

Sex: The gender of the Case Person.

Birth Date: The date of birth of the Case Person.

Requested By: The User ID of the staff person who requested the information from the HUB.

Request Date: The date the information was requested from the HUB.

Request Time: The time that the information was requested from the HUB.

Request Information Group Box:

The Request Information group box displays the persons sent to the IRS in the Tax Household Request and the Tax Filer Category.

Note: The IRS allows only the Tax Filer categories of the Primary, Spouse and Dependent to be sent. N-FOCUS derives these categories from those entered on the Tax Household window.

Last Name:  The last name of a person included as part of the Tax Household.

First Name: The first name of a person included as part of the Tax Household.

M: The middle initial of a person included as part of the Tax Household.

Tax Filer Category: The tax filer category of the person included in the Tax Household. When two adults are added as Married Filing Jointly, the first is sent as Primary, the second as the Spouse. All other adults are sent as Primary except those indicated as a Dependent. Children are usually sent as a Dependent unless they are entered as a Single Tax Paye, not a Dependent.

Person Number: The N-FOCUS person number (ARP ID).

Response Information Group Box:

The Response Information group box displays the data received from the IRS.

Last Name, First Name: The person for whom the Tax information applies.

Return Year: The tax year from which the data is taken.

MAGI Amount: The Modified Adjusted Gross Income declared on the Tax Return for the person.

Note: This amount does not include Title II Social Security benefit amounts.

Taxable SSA Amount: The amount of Social Security Administration (SSA) benefits that are taxable.

Adjusted Tax Return AGI Amount: The amount of the Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) declared on an Adjusted Tax Return.

Total Number of Exemptions: The total exemptions on the tax return.

Filing Status: The filing status assigned by the IRS for the people with taxable income.

Clicking this button will open the IRS Response Error Information window. The information on this window should help you to understand why the match was not received from the IRS.
