The Benefit Summary for SNAP cases is used to view the details of a selected Food Stamp budget.
Begin Date: This field displays the budget month in the title bar of the window.
Program Case Group Box:
This box displays the first and last name of the Program Case Name person, the type of program case, and the type of budget (regular or recalculated).
Budget Details Display Box:
Certification Period: This field displays the begin and end date of the certification period for this budget month.
Reporting Category: This field displays the reporting category for the budget.
*Categorical Eligibility: When a case is categorically eligible a notation displays.
Resource Total: This field displays the total countable amount of resource value calculated for the program case.
Resource Limit: This field displays the resource limit established for the program case.
Resource Test: This field displays the Exempt, Pass, or Fail status for the resource test. If there is an exemption, the reason for the exemption is listed.
Public Assistance Grant: This field displays the total amount of public assistance payments counted in the SNAP budget. Double click to view the amount of each PA grant included in the total amount.
Unearned Income: This field displays the amount of unearned income calculated for the program case.
Earned Income:This field displays the gross amount of earned income calculated for the program case.
Self Employment Income:This field displays the amount of self employment income calculated for the program case. A self employment loss displays as zero.
Farm Loss: This field displays the amount of farm loss income.
Total Gross Income: This field displays the total amount of all income after subtracting any farm loss.
Gross Income Limit: This field displays the total maximum amount of all gross income allowed by program standards.
Gross Income Test: This field displays the Pass, Fail, or Exempt status of the income test. If there is an exemption, the reason for the exemption is listed.
Earned Income Deduction: This field displays the amount of deductions allowed for earned income.
Standard Deduction: This field displays the amount of the allowable standard deduction.
Net Income Before Expense Deductions: This field displays the net countable amount of incomes listed on the left side of the budget summary.
Unit Size:This field displays the number of persons considered in the program case budgeting. (A double click on this field opens a helpful non-financial summary.)
Medical Deduction:This field displays the total deduction allowed for medical expenses.
Child Care Subsidy Pgm Fee: This field displays the child care subsidy fee as determined in N-FOCUS.
Dependent Care Deduction:This field displays the deduction allowed for dependent care deductions.
Child Support Deduction:This field displays the deduction allowed for child support paid.
Housing Costs:This field displays the deduction allowed for housing costs.
Utility Costs:This field displays the deduction allowed for utility costs.
Total Shelter Costs: This field displays the total of housing and utility costs.
Shelter Deduction: This field displays the allowance computed as a final shelter deduction based on program rules. Households that do not have an aged or disabled member are subject to a maximum shelter deduction.
Net Adjusted Income: This field displays the income considered after subtracting all deductions.
Net Income Limit: This field displays the maximum net income limit allowed by program rules.
Net Income Test: This field displays the Pass, Fail, or Exempt status of the net income test. If there is an exemption, the reason for the exemption is listed.
Allotment Amount: This field displays the amount of benefits based on the net income and household size.
Prorated Allotment Amount: This field displays the amount of benefits for months of partial eligibility.
Allotment Reduction Amount: This field displays the amount of reduction for budget sanctions.
Recoupment Amount: This field displays the amount of any benefits being withheld to repay any overissuances.
Offset Amount: This field displays the amount of any underpayments applied to the repayment of an overpayment.
Overpayment Amount: This field displays the amount of any overpayment computed on the budget.
Authorized Amount: This field displays the amount of issuance after any adjustments.
Creation Date: This field displays the date the budget was created.
Note: The specifics of many of the line items can be viewed by double clicking on the line. Budgets authorized before 07-06-2004 may be displayed in a different format and not all of the fields listed here in navy blue type will open.

The Override button is enabled when the Allotment Amount, Allotment Reduction Amount, or PA Grant line is highlighted. It is used to correct these lines when necessary. |
