Search Claim

WINDOW OVERVIEW:

The Search Claim window is used to enter claim search criteria that will be displayed on either the subsequent list or detail windows. Search by any one of the following:

Search for Claims

FIELD DESCRIPTIONS:

Claim Group Box:

Number:  Enter the unique, system assigned identification number for the claim.  It can be found on the billing document.

Line Number:  Enter the line number of the claim.

OR

Claim Item Group Box:

This group box is used to enter claim search information based on a claim item.

Provider:

Number:  Enter the unique, system assigned identification number of the provider.

Name:  This field displays the name of the provider associated with the provider number entered above.

 Select this icon to open the Search Organization window to find a provider.

Case Person Group Box:

Number:  Enter the unique, system assigned identification number of the case person.

Name:  This field displays the name of the case person associated with the Case Person number entered above.

 Select this icon to go to the Person Search window to find the case person responsible for the claim.

Program:  Highlight the appropriate program under which the claim item was entered from the programs displayed in the drop down list.

Status:  Highlight the appropriate status for the claim from those displayed in the drop down list..

Service Dates Group Box:

Begin:  Enter the service begin date.

End:  Enter the service end date.

Suspended or Postponed Claims Group Box:

Status:

Postponed:  Select the postponed radio button to search for claims that have been postponed.  Specify the DHHS office to narrow the search.

Suspended:  Select the Suspended radio button to search for claims that have been suspended.  Specify the DHHS office to narrow the search.

DHHS Office:

Name:   Select the arrow to open the Search Office window where you can search for the office associated with the suspended or postponed claim.

ACTION BUTTONS:

Select the Search button to begin a search. When multiple claims match the search criteria, the Claim List window displays. When only one claim meets the search criteria, the Detail Claim window displays.
Select the New button to create (add) a new claim. Selecting this button opens the Detail Claim window.
Select this button to add a preprint claim. This will be enabled only for claims processing personnel.
Select the Clear button to clear all search information entered. The window remains open to specify new search information.
Select the Cancel button to return to the N-FOCUS Main Menu.
Select the Help button to display instructions for this window.
