Update Tax Filing Status

Once a Tax Household has been saved for a specific year, changes can be made by updating the current Tax Household, deleting a Tax Household or creating a new Tax Household.

To update the Tax Filing Status of one of the persons in the Tax household, follow these steps:

  1. From the Detail Tax Household window, select the person from the Tax Household group box.
  2. Click the Update button or select Menu > Actions > Update Tax Filing Status. The Update Tax Filing Status window opens.
  3. Select the new Tax Filing Status and click OK.

To delete a Tax Household, follow these steps:

  1. From the Detail Tax Household window, select Menu > Actions > Delete Tax Household. A delete confirmation window will open. To confirm the delete select Yes. This will permanently delete the Tax Household. If the delete action was accidentally selected, select No. You will be returned to the Detail Tax Household window.

To create a new Tax Household, follow these steps:

If no Tax Household exist,

  1. Refer to Adding Tax Household Information for further details.

If Tax Household exist, follow these steps:

  1. On the List Tax Households window, select the New icon or select Menu > File > New.
  2. The Detail Tax Household window opens, refer to Adding Tax Household Information for further details.
