5-015.03A APS Time Limits
473 NAC 5-015.03A
The worker may provide Adult Protective Services for a maximum of 60 days without the adult's or his/her legal representative's acceptance of services. If at anytime during the 60-day period the adult or his/her legal representative accepts services, Form DSS-3A or DA-100 must be completed and signed.
Note: The 60-day time limit begins with the date the report is received by the local office.
The worker may provide APS case management for a maximum of 90 days after the adult has accepted services (see 473 NAC 5-015.13) or after court action has been initiated. Form DSS-2A must be submitted to the district administrator to request an extension beyond 90 days. A one-time extension of 90 additional days may be granted by the district administrator. If further involvement is necessary, Form DSS-2A must be submitted to Central Office staff for an additional extension (see 473 NAC 2-007.04). The worker shall attach appropriate documentation of need to the request for extension.
