How Do I:
Process Family Relationships in Mainframe
Person List Box:
This box lists all persons who need to have family relationship information established.
The last name, first name, and date of birth are listed.
When there are parents and children, select (highlight) the parent(s) first.
Process only one person at a time.
Once all relationships and marital status information for the person are established, their name will be removed from the Person list.
Persons in Expert system program cases must be processed in the Expert system.
Relationship Type List Box:
This box lists the relationship types and marital status types that can be established for the highlighted person.
Parent to child ( adoptive, biological, or step) relationships can only be established in parent to child order.
The system will establish the relationship of Alleged parent for persons selected for the CHARTS referral if a biological, step, or adoptive relationship has not been designated.
The system will establish sibling (adoptive, biological, or step) relationships when the parental relationships have been established for all children.
Person(s) List Box:
This box lists all the persons for whom the highlighted person may have a relationship established.
Multiple persons can be selected in this box if they have the same relationship to the person highlighted in the Person Group Box. (Hold down the "CTRL" key when selecting persons.)
Marital Status List Box:
This box lists the Marital Status types that can be selected for persons who are not in Expert System Program cases
The information should reflect the most recent marital information for the person.
Marital status will be set to "Never Married" for all children under age 13.
Begin Date Group Box:
Enter the date (MM-DD-YYYY) the relationship or marital status starts.
The system will set the begin date to the youngest persons date of birth when the relationship is Parent (biological) to child, Sibling (biological), Relative, or Non-relative.
If the child is under age one, the system will set the begin date to 9 months prior to the date of birth.
