The new Safety Model consists of four major components that are documented in the N-FOCUS System: Safety Assessment, Protective Action, Safety Plan, and Kinship Narrative.
Depending on the circumstances of the reported incident, it may not be necessary to document information in all four components.
In addition to these four components, it is also possible and sometimes necessary, to create direct links to other areas of the N-FOCUS System: Intake, YLS Assessment, and Removals. Creating these direct links will also depend on the circumstances of the reported incident.
A key factor of the Safety Model is supervisory approval. The Supervisory Review process will be required for the Safety Plan, The Protective Action, and the Safety Assessment components.
