Service Type Overview
All Service types are set by the policy rules and regulations that determine which services are covered by the various programs, and they are maintained by Central Office staff.
Definitions:
Service Type:Traditionally called "services", service types may be arranged, purchased, or staff provided. An example is "Student Fees".
Program Service: A Program Service is a Service Type that is cove red by an DHHS Program. An example is "Adult Day Care" covered by the Social Services Aged and Disabled Program.
Category: Service Types are grouped by Category. For example, the Service Type "Toddler Care" is part of the Category "Child Care". The Service Type "Student Fees" is part of the Category "Education Services".
The Service Type is the connection point for the Service Referral, Service Request, Service Authorization, and Service Approval areas of the system.
