Review/Recertification - Overview
The Review Recertification Task is used to update the Certification Application Date for Food Stamp cases and update the Review Dates for other program cases.
A single selection (click) on the Review Recertification task in the navigator opens the Review Recertification - Current Tab. A double selection (double click) on the Review Recertification task in the navigator opens the active view . Three Tabs are available in active view; the Current tab, the Recertification tab, and the Review Tab.
This task does not require that a benefit month be selected
The Review Recertification task does not set the other Data Collection tasks for the case. The worker must select any tasks that are needed to complete the review or recertification.
The process for Food Stamp cases:
The Food Stamp program requires that all eligibility requirements be reviewed. FSP Cases are available for the Recertification action 60 days prior to the end of the current certification period and 30 days after the end of the certification period. The Recertification action will place the Food Stamp case in pending status and require a Food Stamp budget to be processed. Additional Master case persons may be added to a Food Stamp case in the recertification process but to close an existing case participant requires use of the Participant Actions task. Any persons added will be added effective the first month of the next certification period. The new certification dates will be set during the budgeting process.
The process for other program cases:
When an AABD/MED, ADC/MED, and/or MED case changes from pending to active or spenddown status the next review date is automatically updated by the N-FOCUS system when the budgets are authorized. All other review dates must be set by the user. The system will not override any user placed dates. The review date can be updated in the mainframe or in this expert system task.
