At the request of Regulation and Licensure, all child care licensing information has been removed from N-FOCUS and will be maintained in the Licensing Information System (LIS).
As a consequence of this decision, licensing staff will no longer be entering a "facility type" for child care organizations. Since this is required on a monthly federal report, logic has been changed to assure this data is captured.
Whenever a new Provider Detail is created for a Child Care service (as part of documenting a provider payment contract on N-FOCUS), the system will check for the existence of a Child Care Facility Type.
If the providing organization has no Child Care Facility Types, the system will bring up a dialog window displaying five possibilities. (They are Approved Family Child Care Home, Child Care Center, Family Child Care Home I, Family Child Care Home II or <None>.)
The user will be required to select the appropriate type and the system will create the Facility Type behind the scenes. If the providing organization has one or more Child Care Facility Types, the dialog window will not come up.
Note: The system allows placements in out of state homes without a license.
