Medicare Overview

Medicare Part B premiums may be paid by the state if the client meets eligibility requirements.

N-FOCUS requests Medicare Buy-In data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) In return, N-FOCUS receives current medicare claim numbers, relevant buy-in information, and status.

When changes are made to the Part A, Part B, or Buy-In status an alert is created to the worker.

Medicare Buy-In information is located in 2 areas on the Person Detail window.

Open the GoTo drop down menu and select the Medicare Inquiry option. The Medicare Coverage List window opens.
Select the Interface icon and select the MBI icon to open the Medicare Buy-In List window.

Schedule: Daily files are sent to Accrete (add) delete, or change Buy-In eligible persons. Monthly files are sent for on-going eligibility.
