Sanctions - Overview

The Sanctions task was added to the Non-Financial tasks effective 03-12-07.

The Sanctions task allows a Budget Sanction to be Added, Closed or Deleted.

Non-Budget sanctions can be closed in the Sanctions task if they are no longer relevant and the person responsible for the sanction is not active in any program case.

The Sanctions task does not have a benefit month selection.

The Sanctions task has 5 tabs that can be selected on the bottom of the window.

All sanctions can be viewed in the task including sanctions imposed in the Case or Participant Actions task, Child Support sanctions, and sanctions that are closed.

All Sanctions are attached to the person that caused the sanction and will move with the person from case to case.  These sanctions will then display on the new case in the Sanctions task.

CSE non-cooperation information from the CHARTS interface will display in its own tab within this task.

The Sanctions task will have a red 'X' to denote that it is a mandatory task in the following situations:

  • There is an open non-budget Sanction for a pending Participant in AABD/MED, ADC/MED, MED, or FSP.  The Sanction would have been imposed in another MC.
  • There is an open CSE Non-Cooperation and no CSE Sanction for the time period for a person who is currently an active, pending, spenddown, or premium due Participant or is Financially Responsible in an ADC/MED, AABD/MED or MED case, (except TMA).

A ReadMe tab displays when the task is open in Active mode and a sanction needs to be resolved or implemented.

The Sanctions task displays a green 'i' when sanction information is available but not mandatory.

The Non-Cooperation with School Attendance sanction is available in the Sanctions task.  When the sanction is imposed and the ADC budget is processed, the grant will be reduced by $50.

Non-budget sanctions may be closed through the Sanctions task as long as they are no longer relevant and the person is not active in any program case.

Delete is also available, but should only be used for error correction or for a sanction that is imposed and lifted in the same month.

The sanction is tied to the Master Case person and should they later be reopened in this or another master case a message window opens notifying the worker of the sanction.
