The Organization Resolution pop-up window opens when the New button is selected on the Search Organization, List Organization, Search Provider Matching, or List Provider Matching windows. The Organization Resolution pop-up window must be completed to continue adding an organization to N-FOCUS.
The organization resolution process begins for existing organizations when the Tax ID is added or changed on the Detail Organization window.
Whether for new or updated organizations, N-FOCUS uses the organization resolution process to check for other organizations that use the same Tax ID.
The organization resolution process is based on the Tax ID number. In N-FOCUS, the Tax ID is either an EIN (47-xxxxxxx) or an SSN (xxx-xx-xxxx).
Comparing the tax IDs of organizations is key to identifying duplicates and managing the placement of clients and payment for services.

Select the Reason(s) for Creating this Organization Box:
One or more radio buttons may be selected. At lease one must be selected to continue adding the organization.
O Owns the Service Approval: An EIN or SSN is required when the organization owns the Service Approval.
O Provides Out of Home placement: An EIN or SSN is required when the organization provides out-of-home placements.
O Provides services other than out-of-home- placement: An EIN or SSN is recommended but not required when the organization provides other services.
O Other uses: An EIN or SSN is optional when the organization is a payee only, has an administrative role, has a professional relationship, etc.
Tax Identification Number Box:
EIN/SSN: Enter the Employer ID number or Social Security number used by the organization.
Tax ID Type Box:
O EIN: Select this radio button if the number entered is an Employer ID number.
O SSN: Select this radio button if the number entered is a Social Security number.

Select the OK button to continue to add or change the Organization tax IDnumber. The organization resolution process runs behind the scenes. If no other organizations use the Tax ID, the Detail Organization window opens in Add mode. Finish adding the organization. If at least one organization uses the same Tax ID, the Organization Resolution List window opens. Research the organizations on the list. |
