Close Case Actions

WINDOW OVERVIEW:

The Close Case Actions window is used to close program cases that are active or pending in the month selected on the Case Actions Current Tab window.

More than one program case can be closed at a time.

For EF cases the program case displays if the case is active, exempt, sanctioned, or transitional.  EF cases cannot be closed for the current or a past month.

How Do I:

Close a Program Case

FIELD DESCRIPTIONS:

Program Case List Box:

This box lists the programs that are active or pending.  Select the case(s) that should be closed.

Last Name:  This column lists the last name of the Program Case Name person.

First Name:  This column lists the first name of the Program Case Name person.

Program:  This column lists the type of Program Case.

Program Case Number:  This column lists the Program Case Number


Closure Reason:  Select the reason the case is being closed from those in the drop down list. Only one reason can be selected for each case.  The list of closing reasons will be tailored to the type of program case.

Sanction Type:  This field is enabled when the closure reason is Sanctioned.  Select the type of sanction from those in the drop down list.


Work Registration Reason:  This field is enabled if the sanction type is SNAP work registration. Open the drop down list and select the reason for the work registration disqualification.

Responsible Person: This field is enabled if the closing reason is Sanctioned.  Open the drop down list and select the person responsible for the sanction. Sanction information entered will also update the Sanctions task.

Date of Death:  This field is enabled if the closing reason is death of the participant.  Enter the date of the death.  This field also updates the demographic information for the person.

Change All case Participant(s) Household Status to “Out”? :

  • Yes:  Select the “Yes” radio button if the reason the case is closing includes all participants moving out of the household.
  • No:  Select the “No” radio button if the participants remain in the household.

Take action for this month only?   This field is enabled when the month selected in the Benefit Month on the Case Actions Current Tab is not the come up month.

  • Yes:  Select the “Yes” radio button if the case closing should be effective only for the month selected in the Benefit Month on the Case Actions Current Tab.  ( If you cannot view the date, move the mouse pointer to the title bar of this window and drag the window lower to view the date field.)
  • No:  Select the “No” radio button if the case should be close for future months.

ACTION BUTTONS:

The next button is used to allow another program case to be closed.  The information for the current case is saved.
The OK button is used to save the information that has been currently entered.  When the close reason is Sanction and an active SNAP case exists, the FTC message opens.
The Cancel button is used to leave the window and NOT save the information that has been currently entered. Any information saved by the Next button will be saved.
The Help button displays the help information for this window.
