The Allegation task is used to document the allegations in a who-did-what-to-whom format for Child Abuse/Neglect or Adult Protective Intakes.
An allegation is not required for an Intake. However if the minimum information is available it is best to add it since a Finding cannot be documented unless an allegation exists. To add or update an allegation the Intake status must be open or pending mode.
For each Allegation an Alleged Victim, Type, and Alleged Perpetrator (if known) is designated. The identity of at least the Alleged Victim is required. Allegations cannot exist when no person names are associated to the Intake.
Each Allegation is required to have the following components:
The remaining components are optional.
Generally, Allegations can be updated as long as the Intake they are associated with can be updated. Once a Finding has been designated, only select Central Office staff can make further updates.
The Allegation windows for Adult Protective Service displays some different fields than those for Child Abuse/Neglect. For this document, fields available only to APS will be in dark red ink and those available only to Child Abuse/Neglect will be in dark green ink.
To open the Allegation windows select the red telephone
