YLS Domain Characteristic Detail

The Domain Characteristic Detail opens after the domain name is double-clicked on the Assessment Detail window.  

ARP ID:  This is the random/unique number assigned to all persons entered into N-Focus.  It is for display purposes only.

Name:  First and last name of the juvenile being assessed.

Status:  This is an indicator of what actions can be conducted on this window.

Assessment Date:  This is the date selected when the assessment was created on the Assessment Detail window.

Domain Name Box:  The name of the domain currently being updated or reviewed will appear in the box adjacent to the Assessment Date.

Domain Narrative:  This is a short synopsis and final analysis of the domain selected.  This box has a maximum of 250 characters.  All 250 characters are visible on this screen.  To view the Domain Narrative in full screen and/or use spell check, click on the Maximize button to the right of the text box.

Source:  This is a short 25 character entry of who was interviewed, or what files were referenced to determine the scoring and analysis determination.

Interview Summary:  This displays narrative entered on the Interview Summary screen for this particular domain.  Additions, updates, or changes can be made by selecting the YLS Interview Summary icon, located near the top.

Characteristics:  Each domain has a set of characteristics to determine the scoring for that domain.  Select a characteristic by clicking on it, which highlights it.  Notice the Domain score will change by one point as a characteristic is selected or de-selected.  The risk level will also change appropriately.

Strength:  Any domain can be considered a strength, except for Offenses/Disposition.  To add strength narrative, select the check box and the narrative box will appear.  This box holds a maximum of 250 characters; all are viewable on the screen.  Narrative can be viewed in full screen by clicking on the Maximize button to the right of the text box.  Spellcheck is available in the full screen view.

Return to the YLS Assessment window by either Save and Close, or Close.  If Close is selected, a message will appear asking if the changes should be applied.
